THE CARNIVAL

The Carnival features the raising of the carnival flag in Municipium Arba Square and the handover of the key to the city to the carnival master, an event where the children from the Pahuljica (Snowflake) Nursery School also participate. Traditionally, the selection of the carnival king is also held, as is the children's carnival parade, jointly organised with the Kocka Association for Children and Youth, not to forget the Trial of Jura Piškanac – the main culprit for all the problems.

Concerts of popular music are held during carnival times. The Rab associations, sports and recreational societies, as well as the nursery, elementary and secondary schools, contribute greatly to this event.
