RAB SUMMER OF ART AND EXHIBITIONS

Rapsko ljeto umjetnosti is a programme of exhibitions held in Rab from the beginning of June to the end of September, organised by the museum and gallery department of Pučko otvoreno učilište Rab. In terms of content, the programme promotes contemporary national visual art, gradually extending its scope towards international cultural cooperation, primarily through exhibition exchange. The activities within the programme are systematically professionalised and improved with a view to ensuring its continuity, appropriate levels and recognition. The exhibition programme is shaped as part of Rab cultural tourism and promotes the exhibition and gallery activities in the local community. The programme guidelines also take into account the destination's efforts to extend the tourist season, especially in the post-season.

In addition to the exhibitions within the Rab Summer of Art, other occasional exhibitions are held in the Church of St Catherine and the lobby of the Rab Cinema.
